The number of happiness studies has grown over the years that, starting from the analysis of various factors, increasingly accurately measure the level of happiness and quality of life of citizens. This proves that this is an extremely relevant issue in Western societies, especially in the current climate of instability and uncertainty where it is increasingly difficult to be happy even in the contexts considered most privileged.
The event is organized by IBSA Foundation for Scientific Research, the Culture Division of the City of Lugano and the Harvard University Lee Kum Sheung Center for Health and Happiness di Boston, USA and in collaboration with l'USI Università della Svizzera italiana, LAC Lugano Arte e Cultura and Lugano Region.
There will be numerous topics to be addressed by 20 international speakers over the course of the two days, including the relationship between happiness and equity of access to resources, opportunities, and rights, which is fundamental to sustainable well-being; the challenges and benefits of the intersection of technology, information, happiness science, and related drivers of well-being; and the intricate connections between happiness, culture, and sociality.
The event is free and open to the public.
The forum will be in English with simultaneous translation service into Italian.
