Tommaso Grassi - December 15, 2017 Astrophysical environments where microphysics matters The numerical modelling of physical processes that take place in the interstellar medium, and in particular those connected to the chemical and thermal evolution of gas and dust, is a challenging task, especially when coupled to massive 3D-MHD simulations. Within this context, in the last years, I have developed KROME, a code aimed at including microphysics in CPU-demanding models. During this talk I will review some of the aspects related to chemistry and microphysics, showing various applications, as for example cpu-friendly dust cooling, chemistry in molecular clouds, non-ideal MHD, and other physical processes that keep me awake at night.
