Robert Brandenberger - May 20, 2016 Searching for Cosmic Strings in New Observational Windows Cosmic strings are predicted in many particle physics models beyond the Standard Model. If Nature is described by a theory admitting cosmic string solutions, then a network of strings will form in the early universe and survive to the present time. Strings leave behind interesting signals in new observational windows such as CMB polarization and 21cm redshift surveys. I will discuss these signals and possible search strategies.
